Designed by Marcel Breuer, the Wassily Lounge Chair was designed in 1925 and has since been regarded as a design classic. Tightly stretched leather is combined with a tubular frame to create this modern lounge chair.
This chair totally transformed traditional chair design - the heavy upholstery of a comfortable armchair was replaced by planes of tightly stretched premium leather and the frame introduced a revolutionary use of tubular steel which was to be adopted by other designers as a symbol of modernity for many years to come.
